Thank You for Making Summer Camp 2026 So Special

As Summer Camp 2026 draws to a close, I have found myself reflecting on what has been one of the most rewarding weeks in the history of Naturism Wales.
The marquees, campervans and tents will soon disappear from the field. The laughter will become cherished memories. The campfires will fade, the music will quieten, and everyone will begin their journeys home. Yet what remains is something far more meaningful than any event programme could ever deliver.
Community.
From the moment the first people arrived, there was an unmistakable feeling that this week was going to be something special. Throughout the camp we watched strangers become friends, conversations become lasting connections, and shared experiences create memories that will stay with us for many years.
Every smile, every helping hand, every shared meal, every game played on the field, every song around the campfire, every conversation over a morning coffee, every laugh that echoed across the site and every act of kindness helped create something far greater than any one individual could achieve.
That is what Naturism Wales has always been about.
It has never simply been an event. It has always been about creating places where people feel they belong, where acceptance comes naturally, where respect is simply part of everyday life and where every individual matters.
This week has reminded me that our greatest achievement has never been the activities we organise. It has always been the people who bring them to life.
To everyone who travelled across Wales and beyond to join us, thank you.
To those attending their very first Naturism Wales event, thank you for placing your trust in our community. I hope you discovered exactly what so many of us have found over the years: genuine friendships, warm welcomes and a place where you can simply be yourself.
To those who have supported us for many years, thank you for continuing to shape the welcoming culture that makes newcomers feel at home from the very beginning.
A heartfelt thank you also goes to our remarkable volunteers. Events of this scale simply could not happen without your generosity, patience and willingness to quietly step forward whenever something needed doing. Whether you prepared food, entertained us, organised activities, welcomed arrivals, helped behind the scenes or simply noticed someone sitting on their own and invited them to join in, you helped create the atmosphere that made this week so memorable.
I would also like to thank everyone who shared their talents with us. Our entertainers, musicians, activity leaders, wellbeing facilitators and those who simply brought their enthusiasm each day all added something unique to the experience. Together you created a week filled with laughter, learning, creativity and unforgettable moments.
As many of you know, I often carry the weight of wanting everything to be perfect. This year something wonderful happened.
It became less about one person organising an event and much more about a community creating something together.
Watching so many people naturally step into supportive roles, encourage one another and help wherever they could filled me with enormous pride. It reminded me that Naturism Wales is growing because of its people. The values of acceptance, kindness, respect and community are no longer simply words that appear on our website. They are being lived every single day by the people who make up this extraordinary community.
That is something truly worth celebrating.
As you return home, I hope you take more than photographs and happy memories with you. I hope you take renewed confidence, new friendships, fresh inspiration and the knowledge that you will always have a place where you belong.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for making Summer Camp 2026 our biggest, warmest and most memorable gathering yet.
Every one of you helped write this story.
Together, we continue to show that naturism is not simply about being without clothes.
It is about living with openness, authenticity, compassion and friendship.
Thank you for believing in that vision.
Thank you for believing in each other.
Thank you for making Naturism Wales feel like home.
See you all again very soon.
