Naturism Doesn’t End When We Get Dressed

Today I’m heading to Whitchurch Blackberry Fair for a lovely day out with some fellow Welsh naturists.
Nothing particularly remarkable about that, perhaps. Except today isn’t a naturist event.
We’ll be fully clothed, wandering around the stalls, listening to music, probably eating things we shouldn’t and enjoying each other’s company.
And I think there’s something rather lovely about that.
Naturism may have introduced us, but friendship is what remains when the clothes go back on.
I’ve always said that naturism is how we live, not simply something we do. For me, community isn’t measured by how many people turn up to a swim, walk or sauna. It’s also found in the friendships that escape the events calendar altogether.
Sometimes community is simply a group of people deciding, “Fancy going to the Blackberry Fair on Saturday?”
So that’s exactly what we’re doing.
No big message today. No statistics. No complicated argument.
Just friends, brought together through naturism, spending an autumn Saturday together.
And really, isn’t that what community is supposed to look like?
