On Sunday 7th June, people across the UK and around the world will celebrate World Naturist Day. For many, it will mean a swim, a walk, a social gathering, a beach visit, or simply spending time outdoors enjoying the freedom and comfort that naturism can bring.

But for us at Naturism in Wales, World Naturist Day is about something even more important.

It is about people.

It is about community.

And it is about the simple belief that everybody matters.

In a world that often seems determined to divide people into groups, categories, memberships, and labels, naturism offers something refreshingly different. It reminds us that underneath our clothes, our jobs, our backgrounds, our ages, and our differences, we are simply human beings sharing the same world.

That is why World Naturist Day matters.

Not because of what we take off. But because of what we leave behind.

The expectations.

The pressures.

The judgments.

The barriers that can sometimes stop people feeling that they belong.

At Naturism in Wales, we believe that naturism should be welcoming, accessible, and rooted in genuine human connection. It should never be about status, titles, or who has been involved the longest. It is about creating spaces where people feel welcome, valued, and included.

Taking your clothes off costs nothing.

Feeling accepted should cost nothing too.

That is why we continue to focus on bringing people together, creating opportunities to connect, and building a community where every individual is respected and every voice matters.

Every person matters.

Some people discover naturism through beaches.

Others through swimming.

Some through social events.

Others through simply wanting a place where they can be themselves without feeling judged.

However people arrive, they are part of the story.

World Naturist Day is a reminder that naturism is not measured by the size of an organisation, the number of members, or the scale of an event. It is measured by the quality of the connections we create and the way we treat one another.

A smile.

A welcome.

A conversation.

An invitation to join in.

These are often the things people remember most.

As naturism continues to grow across Wales, we are proud to see more people discovering not just social nudity, but the deeper values that sit behind it: dignity, respect, equality, belonging, wellbeing, authenticity, and community.

Those values are available to everyone.

This World Naturist Day, whether you join a swim, visit a beach, attend an event, meet friends, or simply spend a few quiet moments enjoying nature, remember that you are part of something bigger.

You are part of a community built on acceptance.

A community where nobody is more important than anybody else.

A community where everybody matters.

Happy World Naturist Day 2026 from all of us at Naturism in Wales.

& Community
