Euronat: The Naturist Family Holiday I Wish More People Knew About

Forget the idea that a brilliant family holiday has to mean an overcrowded resort, children glued to tablets and parents needing another holiday afterwards. I’ve been looking at Euronat on France’s Atlantic coast, and this is the sort of place that reminds me what family holidays are supposed to feel like. Imagine 335 hectares of pine forest, bicycles replacing car journeys, 1.5 kilometres of naturist beach, the Atlantic rolling in beyond the dunes and enough space for children to actually explore. This isn’t simply a naturist campsite that allows families — Euronat has been designed around them.

And goodness, have they thought about the children. There are four different mini-clubs for children and teenagers, with activities tailored to different ages, alongside creative workshops, sport and outdoor adventures.

Then there’s the aquatic complex: heated pools, a paddling pool for little ones, two water slides and a lazy river. Add tennis, padel, volleyball, basketball, badminton, table tennis, a skate park, archery, surfing, horse riding, arts and crafts, pottery, music and summer entertainment and suddenly I’m wondering whether the children would notice if their parents disappeared for an afternoon at Euronat’s thalassotherapy centre. Nearly 60 activities are offered during high season, so this is very definitely not seven days of hearing “I’m bored.” (Euronat)

But what really sells Euronat to me isn’t the activity list. It’s the freedom of an entire family living naturally together. No awkward daily hunt for a suitable naturist beach. No packing everyone into the car just to spend two hours somewhere clothes-optional. You wake up in a villa or chalet among the pines, have breakfast outside, cycle through the village, wander down to the ocean, swim, play, eat and simply get on with being a family. There are more than 20 shops on site, while nearby Montalivet is only about 4 km away by cycle path. Family accommodation ranges from simpler two-room properties to chalets and villas with at least two bedrooms, kitchens, terraces and their own wooded plots. (Euronat)

And here’s the bit I’d be looking at right now if I were planning the 2027 family holiday. Euronat is already advertising an early-booking saving of 10% on selected accommodation for stays of at least a week ending before 1 August, when confirmed by 31 December 2026; there’s a similar early-booking offer on pitches. (Euronat) For me, Euronat gets something important right: children aren’t an afterthought to somebody else’s naturist holiday. They’re part of it. They can make friends, explore, get muddy, learn something new, hurtle down a waterslide and grow up seeing bodies as simply bodies, while Mum and Dad might actually get to relax too.

If I wanted to introduce a family to the joy of a proper naturist holiday, Euronat would absolutely be on my list.
